Turning Three is Awesome!

Brielle turned three on Friday, May 27th.  Wow!  Birthdays are so exciting when you are little.  She started the day with her favorite special breakfast made by Daddy.  Pancakes of course!  Grant and Brielle cut her pancakes into special shapes like B, 3, and a car.  She loved it!  Grant picked her up early from school.  It was raining so they went to the mall play area.  She had a blast!  Grant actually gave her money to put in the machines.  That is quite a treat.  We usually pretend, but not on her birthday.  Brielle actually won a pink elephant from a claw machine.  I met them at the mall to go to Build-a-Bear, but low and behold the mall play area was what she wanted to do.  I thought it would be fun to make Build-a-Bear tradition, since we did it last year.  However, I wasn't in charge!  We came home, ate dinner, had a delicious cookie cake, and then opened presents.  Her favorite was the laptop Grant bought for her.  It is super cute.  She gets emails from Grandpa, Papa, and Uncle Jake.  We can change the people who email her, so it will be fun to add all of her other family and friends.  At the end of the night, Brielle was jumping on the couch like a wild girl.  This was so fun to see, since she hardly ever goes "wild".  Turning 3 is most definitely AWESOME!

Happy birthday Brielle!  We love you!

Brielle took a dollar to school to contribute to the Celebration of Life fund in honor of her birthday.

Brielle's very own apron!

Look at that face!  Birthdays are AWESOME!

Birthday night ended with a manicure and pedicure.
Daddy got a manicure too!

Thanks for my cute shirt and headband Uncle Scott and Aunt Jill.  Brielle loves it!  She finds the cat hysterical!
"Cats don't wear glasses!" giggle...giggle...giggle

Swimsuit Happiness

Remember when it was exciting to put on your swimsuit and wear it everywhere?  Brielle got a new swimsuit last night and LOVES it!  She slept in it.  She is wearing it for breakfast.  We might not leave today because I have a feeling it will be worn all day.

Look how big I am!  I'm three (almost)!

Night Out

Grant is home from Atlanta.  Yeah!  We celebrated by going out to dinner and then to Summit Fair for dessert.  Yogurtini was delicious!  It was fun to all be home tonight!

School Birthday Celebration

Brielle's birthday is next Friday, but she got to celebrate it at her school today.  It was so neat!  She got to show her classmates pictures of when she was a baby, 1, and 2.  Then her classmates sang a special song and Happy Birthday.  Brielle came and sat on Grant's lap to answer questions from her classmates.  I have never seen anything cuter!  She called on all of her friends by name.  They asked sweet questions like:
What is your favorite planet?
Zebra.  Then she said Earth.  :)
What is your favorite color?
Pink.
What is your favorite cake?
Pink cake.
What is your favorite top?
A pink shirt.
What is your favorite movie?
Barbie.
What is your favorite cupcake?
Sprinkles.
What is your favorite animal?
Zebra.
Do we have a girly girl or what?
Grant and I got to stay for lunch.  We ate at a special table that Brielle was excited about.  Our lunch was pizza rolls, carrots, butter sandwiches, and a banana.  I was so impressed that she told us the rules.  If you want ranch for your carrots you say "yes please" and if you don't you say "no thank you".  Brielle got to make a cake with Miss Julie in the morning to share with all of her classmates, so after the "main" meal she offered a piece of cake to all of her friends.  It was so cute!  After lunch she cleared all of our plates.  What a fantastic birthday celebration at school!

Columbia Trip

We had a great day in Columbia last Saturday.  We celebrated Mother's Day with Grant's mom.  Brielle loves visiting Grandma Carolyn's house to see Oreo and Toulouse.  Brielle and G played lots of games with Oreo as well.  Thanks for a great lunch and Happy Mother's Day!
Then we headed to Molly's 2nd birthday party.  Brielle and Max (Molly's brother) are so cute together.  They are shy at first, but then play the whole time.  The pinata and cake were the hit of the night.  Brielle has really improved her pinata skills since Henry's birthday party.  We can't wait to play with Max and Molly this summer when they come to KC!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to everyone!
Happy Mother's Day to my mom especially!
We had a great day at home.  Unexpectedly we were here instead of in Columbia.  It turned out to be a great day.  I got an awesome card Brielle picked out for me by herself.  Then Grant and Brielle went grocery shopping.  We all ate frozen yogurt at Yogurtini.  Yummy!  I was treated to a manicure and pedicure during nap time.  I am a lucky Momma to have Grant and Brielle.  Grant grilled steaks and we finished the meal with strawberry shortcake.  It was our first night with Nemo out too.  Nemo hooks to the hose for some outdoor water bliss!
What a great day to spend with my family!

LOVE my card!

Conversations of the Day

Every day Brielle makes me laugh or amazes me with her ability to communicate.  Today was no different from any other, but here a few memorable conversations:

What should we do while Daddy mows the lawn?
I have 3 ideas.
Really?  What are they?
The first idea is that we go the park.
Good one!
The next idea is that we go to a small park.  Actually all of my ideas are about going to a park, but they are different parks!  One is big and one is small.  One you don't even know about.  Which one should we do?
Go to the park?
Yes!!!
Great ideas!
We did walk to the secret park that I didn't know about.  We didn't make it to this park.  We did find several dried worms that were quite fascinating.  She now thinks they will crawl again when it rains.  I just couldn't break her heart on Mother's Day.

On our journey to this secret park, Brielle picked a daisy and said (unprompted),
Happy Mother's Day Mommy!
That will melt your heart!

Tonight, she graced us with one of her many prayers.  Grant and I have tried to explain that rhyming is not really a prayer, but she still thinks God likes her rhymes.  I'm sure he does.  Most of her "prayers" start with an object she sees and then she rhymes real words or made-up words.
Tonight she made-up Mommy and Daddy prayers.  After saying her Daddy prayer several times, she ended with:
Daddy.  Toilet.  Daddy.  Toilet.  Daddy.  Toilet.
Yes.  I started giggling uncontrollably.
That was my funny prayer.
We were all giggling.

It is now getting late.
Good night to all.  Toilet.  Sweet dreams.  Toilet.
I hope you are giggling too!

Yard Work Surprise

We did a lot of yard work this afternoon and evening.  Grant replaced our front three bushes and tree.  I planted a few flowers.  Brielle had the best time of her life!  She found worm friends.  She was bringing her worms food and treating them like real pets.  It was hysterical and disgusting at the same time.  Grant is proud of her "outdoorsy" attitude.  I would rather not be in the midst of nature, but Brielle was really enjoying it.  In fact, I walked around back to grab a plant and found quite a surprise when I got back.  Needless to say I had to capture this moment before making her adhere to the laws of society.  No Shirt.  No Shoes.  Awesome Time!  I did have to censor these pictures.

Notice her innovative clothesline?

School Picnic

We went to Brielle's school picnic today.  It was fun!  Every day I am so thankful that Aubrey told us about the Montessori school.  We love it!  On Friday, I was talking to the teachers about Brielle telling me she can't write letters.  Miss Julie showed me some great things we are going to try because the don't want her to feel anxiety about learning.  At any rate, we are so glad Brielle is at this school.  The school picnic included a pinata and more.  It was fun to watch Brielle with her good friend Maggie and playing with all of the other kids.  Sharing a picnic with Aubrey, Hudson, and Henry was a blast too!

Silly Faces

Brielle captured these awesome silly faces!  Couldn't resist posting these!

Princess Birthday Party

Brielle had so much fun at Princess Jenna's 3rd birthday party!  She loved the music, dancing, and cake.  It's fun to see her at her friends' birthday parties.  It's like she's a real grown-up kid.  Except for one wardrobe malfunction the princess outfit worked extremely well!  She wanted curls in her hair, make-up, and had to do her own nails prior to the party.  I can't wait to see the effort she makes before her first prom.
Happy Birthday Jenna!

Easter

Easter was so much fun!  We started the weekend by decorating eggs.  Good thing we are thinking about new counter tops, because some blue coloring spilled on our counter.  Grant later scrubbed a little harder and got it off.  I guess I was hoping to get my new counter tops a little faster!  Then we headed to Purdy, Missouri to visit my Granny (mom's mom).  It's fun to visit when there are so many cousins with kids.  Brielle had a blast playing with everyone.  We got to spend some quality time with our Godson Simon.  We love him lots!
