Happy President's Day

We are relaxing and taking it easy on this fantastic President's Day.
I had to share Brielle's work from school.  She told me that Abraham Lincoln lived a looooooong time ago.
This work was created by poking a push-pin around the silhouette of Abraham Lincoln.  Then they pushed out the silhouettes and glued them on paper.  I am always impressed at how the activities are so multi-faceted.  Brielle never completes a "work" that isn't teaching her multiple skills and developing many different parts of her brain.  It is simply amazing.

You can see that her name is coming right along and the amount of detail, fine-motor, and patience it took to use a push-pin around the silhouette.

Playdate

We finally got to play with Paxton and Jensen.  They are not babies anymore! Brielle played with the big boys, Hudson and Henry, first.  Then she played with the little boys.  She even got to help change both of their diapers.  I guess she played peek-a-boo with Jensen to keep him happy.  So sweet.  Brielle now thinks that when a baby's face turns red that means he is........you know.
We love playing with these little guys!

Here is a super sweet picture of Brielle and Paxton.  :)

Conversation of the Day

Me:  Wow!  It's so nice outside.  Spring is coming!
Brielle:  Mom, the groundhog saw his shadow.  We have 6 more weeks of winter.
Me:  Well, it's February 17th, so I think we have just a few weeks left.
Brielle:  6 weeks Mom.

Park in February

Brielle and I went to the park after school yesterday.
It was so fun to be able to go to the park in February.

Valentine's Day

I think this was the best Valentine's Day ever.  We had so much fun!  Happy birthday to my dad too!

Valentine's Day started out by eating heart biscuits and opening Valentine's Day presents.
Brielle had to use her present right away!

Special Valentine's Day hair

Modeling her new dress!

Showing off how the skirt twirls

After school and work, we headed to Kona Grill for dinner.
Say cheese!

Silly...

Two silly faces...

Oh my!  Red velvet cupcake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Valentine's Day Every day is more amazing with Brielle!

Snow Day Fun

First snow day of the year (and maybe the last)!  Brielle and I enjoyed it to the fullest.  Grant even took a break from work to play.  We love snow days!

Sledding with the babies...a must!

Pretty snow-covered eye lashes

First hot chocolate break with her mug from the Office/Klug reunion

Grant taking a break from work

Flying around the yard

Snow women (the big one is Brielle and she informed the little one is me when I was a baby...sounds right)

Beauty and the Beast

We finally went to see Beauty and the Beast 3-D.  Brielle loved it!  She also loved that Coy, Mac, and Jeanna came with us.  Brielle and Coy were so funny.  They talked throughout the previews.  They would also laugh hysterically at different parts and share popcorn and candy.  Brielle kept trying to compare what was happening in the movie to the book we read at home.  They are not quite the same and she noticed every single detail.  I was quite impressed.  She would also say things like - She can't go in the West Wing.  The Beast told her not to.  NOOOOOOO! (screaming as Belle entered the West Wing).  Beauty and the Beast was fantastic!

After the movie, we went to Barnes and Noble.  As you can see Brielle loved her new glasses.  I thought this outfit was a classic...red/black/yellow dress, purple striped leggings, giant black boots, and 3D glasses.

We ended up buying a My Little Pony book, but we asked Brielle to read all of the books she picked out before she made her decision.  The My Little Pony book happened to come with ponies.  I wonder why she picked it?  I was excited to see her "read" all of the books first.

Yogurtini (again)

We went to Yogurtini again!  It was delicious again!
Brielle had to sit alone.  Not because we told her to.  She prefers her own table.  She loves to wave and smile while she sits alone and stares at people.  We wave, smile, and give her the thumbs-up.  It's pretty cute when she gives you the double thumbs-up while grinning from ear to ear as she sits alone at a table.  For now we like to call her independent...

Mizzou vs. Kansas

Big game!  Big game!  Mizzou played Kansas for the last time (at least for a while) at Mizzou Arena.  Both teams were ranked in the top 10.  College Game Day was in Columbia.  Our excitement was through the roof!

We traveled to Columbia early in the day, so we could eat a pregame dinner with the Rapps.  We ate at Shakespeare's pizza which is the best.  The kids had a blast.  Pizza was amazing.  Black and gold was everywhere!  We ended our pregame celebration with Orange Leaf.  The only thing that could make the day better was a win....MIZZOU WON!!!!!!!!!

I pretty sure Brielle already realizes that she is highly encouraged to attend MU.  I'm not sure Grant could stomach a different choice.  :)

Playing with the pizza dough...

Pretending they were at the beach at Orange Leaf...

Gingerbread House

Brielle and my mom made a gingerbread house (in February).  Mom found the kit on clearance, and clearly Brielle doesn't associate gingerbread houses with Christmas yet.  It turned out to a fun and delicious activity!

Late Nights

Typically I stick to a routine.  Brielle has always had a bedtime.  We typically won't deviate unless it's a special occasion.  Well, this week was a bit crazy.  Monday night Brielle went to my friends' Pinterest Night.  She played with Ava all night while my friends and I made scarves.  Ava and Brielle made their own picture frames with paint and sequins.  She wasn't in bed until 9:20....on a school night...gasp!  To my surprise she was a trooper the next morning, and it didn't seem to bother her like it used to.  Thursday night she went to SPE's music program with me.  Again, she wasn't in bed until 9:00.  She woke up just fine.

Looks like we have a big girl who can handle a few late nights!  Exciting!
