No Milk for the Short Guy

So let's back up a few months.  How about the beginning?  At a week old, I called the pediatrician asking for help because Carson was crying all of the time and not happy.  I was told to eliminate dairy.  No big change.  Gas drops.  Not a lot of help.  At a month old, Carson was diagnosed with acid reflux and he started taking Zantac.  Seemed to help a little.  We tried the chiropractor.  A big difference.  I ate some macaroni and cheese and pizza.  BAD IDEA.  Our screaming boy was back.  Now we were pretty convinced dairy bothered Carson.  At about 4 months, I noticed his first hive.  Then more and more single hives started popping up.  The doctor thought it was probably dairy residue on our hands or lips.  We confirmed this by putting a drop of milk on his leg and a huge hive popped up immediately.  Hand and mouth washing became a must in our house.

Then one Saturday morning while feeding Carson rice cereal and peaches (first time) he got a neck full of huge hives.  Luckily we had Benadryl on hand.  The hives went down, but my 'freaked outness' went way up.  We were given the go ahead to see a real allergy doctor.  Then a blood test to check stone fruits, milk, and rice.

Confirmation: Milk and milk protein allergy

We continue to wash our hands and mouths, carry Benadryl, and now an epi-pen.  Many kids grow out of milk allergies, so we are praying Carson is able to do the same.

Sorry the first couple of months were rough Carson Boy!
We love you and hope you can eat ice cream one day!

First Park Trip...for Carson

We love Bass Pro Park.  The weather was perfect, so we headed out for our first park trip.  It was a success!

Carson is excited to run around and play like Brielle one day!
